Caring for Your New Tattoo

Tattoo Aftercare

Healing is different for everyone. Every body is different, every piece is different.

The most important thing is to follow the aftercare instructions I give you. I base everything on my style and the way I work, so this is the best way to make sure your tattoo heals properly.

If your tattoo doesn’t heal exactly how you expected, don’t stress. Bigger pieces, placement, and your daily routine can all affect the healing process. What matters most is that you’re paying attention and taking proper care of it.

Here’s what I want you to do:

  • Always wash your hands before touching your tattoo
  • Remove the bandage based on the time I told you
  • Gently wash it with lukewarm water and antibacterial soap
  • Pat it dry with a clean paper towel (don’t reuse towels)
  • Apply a very thin layer of aftercare cream (don’t overdo it)
  • Wear loose clothing so the area can breathe
  • Stay out of the sun (it can cause irritation and fading)
  • Keep it moisturized regularly, but don’t overapply
  • Avoid swimming, soaking, saunas, and long exposure to water until it’s fully healed
